"THE EVOLUTION OF BICYCLE DESIGN"
A Mock Timeline Exhibition
The purpose of this project was to brand the mock exhibition of a timeline installation at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. The timeline would illustrate the history of bicycle design.
I elected to design a series of posters to be printed at 20"x30" that would be eye-catching, while also encouraging the viewer to examine the text more closely so as to better understand the imagery.
As the mechanical design of bicycles would be central in the content of the timeline exhibition, I decided to reimagine common/recognizable bicycle hardware while taking inspiration from the idea of "evolution". The manipulated images are meant to suggest growing, changing forms, while placing an emphasis on the physical materials found on a bicycle.
